SEVEN, NOT SO KNOWN SONGS THAT YOU WOULD LOVE INSTANTLY!

So it’s clearly an era of remixing songs, mostly those songs which were originally good and really fun to listen to on their own. But some folks like to remix and remake them and in the process the songs lose their original lustre but in some cases songs even become more entertaining. But the former happens quite more often than the latter, in my opinion. If you aren’t a musician, don’t even play any instruments or aren’t a singer either, even then music would be an integral part of your day-to-day life. And even as I’m editing this article, I’m listening to music.
Music helps when you want to celebrate, when you want to dance like no one’s watching or even when you just want to unwind and relax after a hectic day. And as the saying goes, “Without music, life would be a mistake”
So let me share some of my not-so-known music gems and guys don’t make a mistake by not listening to all of these.

CityLife – By Raghav Meattle
Raghav Meattle is an Indian Singer-Songwriter who is based out of Mumbai. I first heard this song way back on a comedy talk show and I somehow felt this low-key instant connection to the song. I listened to the song on loop that day and for a few upcoming days too. It was only sometime ago when this very song was released with an official song video on YouTube.
This song never fails to put you right in the feels about life in Mumbai. I’ve never seen or heard such graceful, elegant and hard-hitting illustration of the very famous and hustly-bustly “Mumbai Life”. This song gives me goose bumps every single time I listen to it.
It’s the kind of song which has such mellow and soothing music and relatable lyrics. You will find yourself aching for this song whenever you are in need of solitude and some alone time away from all the chaos of life or in those times when you are down and out.

Udd Gaye – By Ritviz
Ritviz is a Pune based DJ, singer and music producer. Upbeat music and a bit melancholic lyrics in his songs is what the masses related to the most. Even though the lyrics of this song are slightly gloomy but the overall tone, feel and beats of the song  are cheerful.
Whenever I listen to this song, it makes me feel that I’m in some kind of happy trance. This track is my personal favourite out of all of  Ritviz's songs, but he has few other amazing tracks like:
Liggi: This track basically describes the state of a newly-wed bride.
Sage: The video of this track would be the cutest think you would watch that day and of course not to miss it’s amazing music and the lyrics which has quite hopeful feels.

Typical – Anthony Russo
I stumbled upon this song just sometime back on my Instagram and a few lines from this song resonates a lot with almost all of us, the lines are:
'Love is like a puzzle ,
No a puzzle doesn’t come complete
But it wants to be……’
I mean isn’t it that we all just want, some warmth, some love and someone to complete us?
This song reassures you about finding that someone, who is going to complete pieces of your heart’s puzzle.
The song feels so soothing and just like a breeze of fresh air. It makes you feel so relaxed without any effort and this one’s such an underrated song, so definitely give this song a go, you won’t regret.

Baba (female cover) – Sung by Priyanka Chopra
This Marathi song, from a Marathi film sung by Priyanka Chopra, will surely make you cry, feel emotional and vulnerable. You would definitely want to hug your father right after listening to this song. I’ve never heard more beautiful and touching song for fathers. Even if you don’t know Marathi this song touches you and makes you emotional despite of the language barrier and that says something about the beauty of this song.
But to actually know the meaning and depth of this song, do listen to it with English subtitles or search up meaning of the song on Google afterwards.

Coffee Cup – Sung by Anthony Lazaro
One more Instagram discovery. The voice and the atmosphere that is built in this song, without a doubt, will make you feel so soothing. Use of the trumpet in music feels refreshing
The story told in the song is in fact too cute and brings you so much warmth. Kind of a song you would want to chill and relax to. This song will surely bring a bright smile over your face.

Dua-Saware Mixtape:
I know quite few people are not really a fan of mixtapes, as combining songs takes away the beauty of an individual song and I surely was one of those people until I heard this magical song. These two songs; Dua from the movie Shanghai and Saware from the movie Phantom; are beautiful on their own but after listening to this mixtape you would be convinced that this pair  of songs were literally made for each other and they come together to create something which is surely nothing less than magic. Amazing voices of Salim Merchant and Neeti Mohan are cherry on top. I assure you would love every bit of this brilliant song.

• Bhumbro electro folk:
The music and lyrics of this reprised version of the song Bumbro from the movie Mission Kashmir has been improvised and modified to meet the modern needs. Melodious and sweet song has a Kashmiri folk vibe to it which you would love to listen to. The only and probably a big minus point of this pretty song is the rap that has been added which was quite not needed .

What's your favorite story?

I am fascinated by short stories. O. Henry, Saki, Katherine Mansfield are some of my favorite short story writers.   Why you should start reading short stories? It gives a flavour of the genre and the writing style of the author. Because it is short, you can easily gather up the determination to complete the read. And it being short also helps to not invest much time on one author and can move seamlessly from one read to another.   Short stories also help to get back the habit of reading. If you’re someone who have lost the daily reading habit, such small bites of stories are enough to catch your attention and aid you to get back on track.   I have listed down 5 short stories that are great reads and will certainly add a rainbow to your day: The Open Window by Saki The Romance Of a Busy Broker by O. Henry The Daughters of the Late Colonel by Katherine Mansfield Crossing into Poland by Issac Babel The Monkey’s Paw by W W Jacob   Here I...

My Open Letter to O Captain, My Captain

First things first, please tell me that you’ve seen the movie `Dead Poet’s Society'. In case you haven’t then let me tell you, you’re missing a classic and you should watch it stat and if you’ve already seen the movie, then I hope you relate to the following open letter addressed to the main character of this movie, Professor John Keating.     Dear O Captain, My Captain; Well yes, I’m a slightly more daring. Where do I even start? You were a professor but you never gave in to conventional schooling and teaching which mostly teaches to rot learn but rather you had your own specific approach to teaching, which let’s be honest was amazingly refreshing, highly necessary and a definite eye-opener. The best high school teacher I’ve ever come across, one who equips you with a new perspective. You did the same by injecting the strict all-boys school with poetry, spirit and a dash of rebellion You taught those lads something which we can’t quantify because it’s priceless....
